He Is Faithful

“Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful.” (Hebrews 10:23)

As I’ve grown older and have been able to experience so many different things in life, one of the truths I’ve learned is that outside of God, the only constant is change; the only thing of this world that is consistent, is inconsistency itself.

Yet Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Heb. 13:8). He was there from the beginning of creation and will be there when heaven and earth pass away (Matt. 24:35). He is the Everlasting Word of Life (Jn. 1:1), and His kingdom has been established in eternity (Ps. 145:13). He is the Alpha and the Omega- the beginning and the end, who is and who was and who is to come (Rev. 1:8). He doesn’t change (Mal. 3:6), and is forever faithful (1 Cor. 1:9). Jesus is dependable, reliable, trustworthy, uncompromising, and true.

The only way we can have hope that is 100% steadfast and secure, is when we put our hope in something that is 100% steadfast and secure. For those of us who have entrusted our lives and confessed that our hope is in Jesus, we can hold steadfast in our faith and walk in the absolute certainty of His promises!

Do you want that type of assurance and security in your life? When the people in our lives let us down, when our jobs or careers change in the blink of an eye, when our bodies and health give way, when our strengths and abilities deteriorate, when our 401k runs out, when our government disappoints us, when our economy fails us, when our environment decays under the duress of disaster and disease, when the seasons change, and even when heaven and earth itself pass away… Jesus, His promises, and His kingdom will remain! And that’s something, or rather someOne, I will gladly put my hope in!

Brother and sister, the verse today challenges us to hold fast to whom we confess our hope in. Though the circumstances in our life are shaky and ever-changing, our God will never be shaken and will never change.

You can trust in Him alone and boldly pursue the life of faith, love, and righteousness He’s called you to– for He who promised is faithful!
