“Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me.” (John 14:1)
It’s so easy (and natural) to let this physical world and the circumstances around us dictate our level of confidence and peace. The COVID-19 pandemic is a perfect example of this, as for many this novel coronavirus is planting seeds of fear, anxiety, and despair in our hearts.
“You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.” (Isaiah 26:3)
It’s a unique time, and many of us (adults and children alike) have found ourselves working or studying from home during this COVID-19 pandemic. While we do so, each of us faces a similar adversary that hinders our productivity…
“Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful.” (Hebrews 10:23)
As I’ve grown older and have been able to experience so many different things in life, one of the truths I’ve learned is that outside of God, the only constant is change; the only thing of this world that is consistent, is inconsistency itself.
Most Friday nights we meet with our church small group and take time sharing what’s going on in our lives. It’s always a mixture of what looks like “good” things (praise reports) and “bad” things (prayer requests) on the surface. (more…)

Thankfully it’s very rare when this happens, but yesterday our children disobeyed and continued to use their iPad after their mom clearly told them to stop. Because of that they were disciplined and also lost some privileges they would have gained for later that day, had they been obedient to our instruction. (more…)
