“He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.” (Revelation 21:4)

A couple of years ago, my wife and I surprised my kids with a trip to Disney World in Florida. They had no idea we were going there until the morning of the flight, and they really didn’t know what to expect. They had heard about the “Magic Kingdom” before, but couldn’t even begin to imagine all of the things they would experience there.

In Revelation 21, the Apostle John is given a vision of “a new heaven and a new earth” created by God when Christ returns to reign. We aren’t given many details of what it will be like, but we do know that God will dwell with us there (v3), and there will be no more tears (of sadness, anger, bitterness, strife, etc.), no more death, no more mourning, no more crying, no more pain, and no more concern with the things in our current lives that detract us from experiencing God and the perfection of life He intended for us. As believers, what an AWESOME thing to look forward to!

Brothers and sisters, God has an incredible future that will be beyond anything we can dream of or hope for, and He is inviting us to dwell side-by-side with Him for eternity! Our admission isn’t through a ticket we can ever buy or earn, but is simply by acceptance of the free gift of grace offered through the death and resurrection of Jesus (John 14:6, Romans 6:23, Eph. 2:8-9).

No matter how challenging your life may be, take hope in knowing that it doesn’t end here. God is the author of eternity, and He has an eternal life of joy and fulfillment waiting for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose (John 14:1-4).

My children still recall that Disney World trip as their favorite vacation to this day. It wasn’t just the surprise of going there, but it was all of the wonderful things that Disney had in store for them that, as a child, they had no idea even existed or could be.

We can truly rejoice because my kids’ fantastic Disney World experience will utterly pale in comparison to the ultimate destination God has in store for believers in Christ! Child of God, I’ll see you there! 😉 🙌
