We Are Captives (Psalm 126:1-3)

“When the Lord brought back the captives to Zion, we were like men who dreamed. Our mouths were filled with laughter, our tongues with songs of joy. Then it was said among the nations, ‘The Lord has done great things for them. The Lord has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy.'” (Psa. 126:1-3)

As I read this passage, it reminds me that we are just like the captive Israelites who were exiled. The Lord had to bring them back to be restored to their land and position, and in the same way, He also had to restore us and our position in the body of Christ. (more…)

Where Does My Help Come From? (Psalm 121:1-8)

“I lift up my eyes to the hills— where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. He will not let your foot slip— he who watches over you will not slumber; indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord watches over you— the Lord is your shade at your right hand; the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord will keep you from all harm— he will watch over your life; the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.” (Psa. 121:1-8)

This is such a perfect passage for my family and I based on a pretty serious medical situation that came up yesterday. (more…)

Enter His Gates With Thanksgiving (Psalm 100)

Psalm 100 is a call to give thanks and praise to the Lord!

“Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth.
Worship the Lord with gladness;
come before him with joyful songs.
Know that the Lord is God.
It is he who made us, and we are his;
we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.

Enter his gates with thanksgiving
and his courts with praise;
give thanks to him and praise his name.
For the Lord is good and his love endures forever;
his faithfulness continues through all generations.”

What a perfect way to start a new day! (more…)
