God Speaks. Are You Listening? (Proverbs 28:9)

“If anyone turns a deaf ear to my instruction, even their prayers are detestable.” (Prov. 28:9)

Obedience to the Lord is a direct conduit to our effectiveness in communicating with Him. God has a voice, and in the Bible you’ll see that there are a variety of ways in which He chooses to speak to us. Are we willing to listen? (more…)

Scripture Is Pretty Important (Psalm 119:1)

“Blessed are they whose ways are blameless, who walk according to the law of the Lord.” (Psa. 119:1)

I recently shared on Psalm 117, which is the shortest chapter in the Bible, and am now at Psalm 119, which is the longest chapter in the Bible! There are some really cool things that God shows us through this passage. (more…)

Today If You Hear His Voice (Psalm 95:6-8)

“Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the Lord our Maker; for he is our God and we are the people of his pasture, the flock under his care. Today, if only you would hear his voice, “Do not harden your hearts as you did at Meribah, as you did that day at Massah in the wilderness…” (Psalm‬ ‭95:6-8‬)

God speaks to us every day, whether it’s through prayer, His Word, or other people, events, or circumstances He chooses to use. (more…)

Hidden in Our Hearts (Psalm 119:11)

The daily Bible verse I got on my phone app today is Psalm 119:11, which reads:

“I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.”

This is a perfect verse for me today, as I’ve been very conscious this week about maintaining my focus on the Lord since I’m leading worship this Sunday. Every day I know I should strive to keep my focus 100% on the Lord, but as I’ve mentioned before, it’s often more difficult for me during the times when I’m knowingly about to step out in faith and do something to share or spread the gospel of Jesus Christ.
