Season of Separation (Hosea 3:3)

“Then I told her, ‘You are to live with me many days; you must not be a prostitute or be intimate with any man, and I will live with you.’ (Hosea 3:3)

I’ve recently torn or severely sprained the MCL (medial collateral ligament) in both of my knees. In what some would call a series of “bad luck”, I first tore the MCL on my right knee, and then after over 2 months of healing, I immediately sprained the same ligament on my left knee the moment I went back to a sport I love doing.

Although being injured isn’t fun, I praise God because it has redirected my focus and given me more time and mindshare to study His Word and disciple my family, through a season in which my family (and I) need it the most.

What Do You Worship? (Psalm 135:15-18)

“The idols of the nations are silver and gold, made by the hands of men. They have mouths, but cannot speak, eyes, but they cannot see; they have ears, but cannot hear, nor is there breath in their mouths. Those who make them will be like them, and so will all who trust in them.” (Psa. 135:15-18)

The more I study the Bible and observe the natural behaviors and tendency of people, the more I realize how serious of an issue idolatry is. The reason it’s such a prevalent sin is because God has created us to be worshippers— we are naturally inclined to worship. The question is, who or what are we worshipping? (more…)

Absolutely Crazy

People, reading in the book of Matthew again is SO SO GOOD! In just these first 8 chapters alone, there is so much meat and so many truths and so much wisdom and so much JESUS. It’s really awesome… ya’ll should try it. 😉 But anyway, at the end of chapter 8, this little encounter with Jesus stood out to me this morning.
