Sound Advice (Proverbs 12:5)

I often have the opportunity to give advice to people. For whatever reason, people tend to come to me (for better or worse!) to seek counsel, and if you take a look at your daily interactions and relationships, you may find yourself in the same situation. (more…)

Absolutely Crazy

People, reading in the book of Matthew again is SO SO GOOD! In just these first 8 chapters alone, there is so much meat and so many truths and so much wisdom and so much JESUS. It’s really awesome… ya’ll should try it. 😉 But anyway, at the end of chapter 8, this little encounter with Jesus stood out to me this morning.

IF / THEN

So an interesting thing happened recently. For my men’s group reading, we’re now back in the book of Matthew after completing the Old Testament. As I was chatting with a friend from my group via Email, I told him, “I’m excited to get into the New Testament again and study Jesus’ life even closer!” Okay, I know that doesn’t sound all that interesting. But it is and let me tell you why… I’ve honestly never been THIS excited to read the Bible before! (more…)

Live Each Day

Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not people, because you know that the Lord will reward each one for whatever good they do, whether they are slave or free. Eph 6:7-8

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving. Col 3:23-24

Happy Monday everyone! As we begin the work week, I’m sure that many of you feel the same way when I say that sometimes work isn’t that fun. You’re in the minority if you actually have your dream job- the “job I would choose to do if money weren’t a factor”. We all have that dream position in our minds. (more…)

Being Heard

One night after I finished doing Bible study with my kids before bed, I asked them a simple question about prayer. We were going through the life of Joshua, and it was apparent that as Joshua remained faithful to the Lord, He heard Joshua’s prayers, vanquished the Israelites’ many enemies before them, and eventually brought them into the Promised Land. I wanted to see if the kids felt that we serve the same God who answered the prayers of His people so very long ago in the Bible. (more…)
