A Response of Love (Joshua 11:15)

“As the Lord commanded his servant Moses, so Moses commanded Joshua, and Joshua did it; he left nothing undone of all that the Lord commanded Moses.” (Joshua 11:15)

Thankfully it’s very rare when this happens, but yesterday our children disobeyed and continued to use their iPad after their mom clearly told them to stop. Because of that they were disciplined and also lost some privileges they would have gained for later that day, had they been obedient to our instruction. (more…)

Stepping Stones (Joshua 8:6-7)

“They will pursue us until we have lured them away from the city, for they will say, ‘They are running away from us as they did before.’ So when we flee from them, you are to rise up from ambush and take the city. The Lord your God will give it into your hand.” (Joshua 8:6-7)

Have seven priests carry trumpets of rams horns in front of the ark. On the seventh day, march around the city seven times, with the priests blowing the trumpets. When you hear them sound a long blast on the trumpets, have all the people give a loud shout; then the wall of the city will collapse and the people will go up, every man straight in.'” (Joshua 6:2-5)

As a born-again Christian, there have been many times in my life where God has asked me to do things that made little sense to me at the time. (more…)

Be a Leader (Joshua 5:13-14)

“Now when Joshua was near Jericho, he looked up and saw a man standing in front of him with a drawn sword in his hand. Joshua went up to him and asked, ‘Are you for us or for our enemies?’

‘Neither,’ he replied, ‘but as commander of the army of the Lord I have now come.’ Then Joshua fell facedown to the ground in reverence, and asked him, ‘What message does my Lord have for his servant?'” (Joshua 5:13-14)
