“For certain men whose condemnation was written about long ago have secretly slipped in among you. They are godless men, who change the grace of our God into a license for immorality and deny Jesus Christ our only Sovereign and Lord.” (Jude 1:4)

Jude has a warning to all believers, and that is to beware of those who reject the sovereignty and sufficiency of Jesus, distort the truth of God’s Word, and view God’s grace as a license to sin.

False teachers and faulty theology have slipped into today’s church. The Gospel is under attack, and those who live in obedience to God’s Word are viewed as fanatics, haters, and bigots. Sin takes on a variety of forms, and we are easily deceived when we don’t know our Bibles and fail to walk in the Spirit.

We must stand for truth and godly living, even when it’s unpopular and countercultural. Despite what may be trendy and accepted by your friends, family, co-workers, teachers, or the world around you, always test these against Scripture. Hold on to what is good, and reject every kind of evil.

While God’s severe judgment awaits those who promote false teaching and lifestyles of sin, eternal life awaits those who repent of sin and trust in the saving blood of Jesus Christ!
