Is It Worth It? (Psalm 127:1)

“Unless the Lord builds the house, its builders labor in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the watchmen stand guard in vain.” (Psa. 127:1)

Anything that we put our efforts into that isn’t centered around Christ and His will, is in vain. Anything we intensely focus on that doesn’t likewise merit God’s attention, is in vain.

The time, talent, or treasure we spend on things that don’t bring glory to God, don’t draw ourselves or others closer to Christ, or don’t result in obedience and worship to the Lord, is in vain.

Take a look at your life and ask yourself this question- What are you using your time, talent, or treasures on? Can you say that whatever it is, it brings God glory? If it doesn’t, then you might want to reassess how much you are investing into that thing, or else it is merely an idol.

Blessed are those who truly look to the Lord as their Shepherd, in every facet of their life!
