Where Does My Help Come From? (Psalm 121:1-8)

“I lift up my eyes to the hills— where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. He will not let your foot slip— he who watches over you will not slumber; indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord watches over you— the Lord is your shade at your right hand; the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord will keep you from all harm— he will watch over your life; the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.” (Psa. 121:1-8)

This is such a perfect passage for my family and I based on a pretty serious medical situation that came up yesterday.

While the discovery caught us off guard, God is reminding us that He is tirelessly and continuously watching over us and protecting us. He is bigger than any sickness, trial, challenge or circumstance that we will ever face on this earth, and has a heavenly home awaiting us at the end or our journeys!

I’m reminded today that regardless of what situation we’re going through, we must always lift our eyes to the Lord, knowing that our helps comes from God, the Maker of heaven and earth. He is love, and we can walk in confidence knowing that He works for the good of all those who love Him and are called according to His purpose. (Rom. 8:28)

Be encouraged today that the Lord is watching over your life. There is not a step that He doesn’t see, nor a cry He doesn’t hear, of his beloved children.

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” (Phil. 4:6-7)

Thank you Jesus for your love and purpose through every circumstance!
