In His Shelter (Psalm 91:1)

“Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.” (Psa. 91:1)

This is such a simple yet powerful verse! In many places throughout the Bible, God is referred to as our shelter, refuge, strong tower, rock, fortress, etc. When we put our faith in Jesus, we can rest in confidence knowing that He will walk with us through the trials, challenges, and dangers we’ll face in this life. As the Lord says, His yoke is easy and His burden is light. There’s no better place to be than in the presence of the Lord!

Heavenly Father, thank you for your love. Thank you that You love us so much and have such concern for us, that You even command your angels to guard us and lift us up. We are not worthy nor deserving, but You are the definition of love, and to us you give the Father’s Love. No matter what struggles we may be facing, thank you for reminding us that when we lay them at the foot of the cross, in You we’ll have rest and in You we’ll have peace. I pray that each of us would do whatever it takes to continuously dwell in your shelter, reside in your presence, abide in your Word, and lean on your strength. In Jesus’ mighty name I pray, Amen!
