His Dwelling Place (Psalm 84:1)

“How lovely is your dwelling place, Lord Almighty! My soul yearns, even faints, for the courts of the Lord; my heart and my flesh cry out for the living God.” (Psalm 84:1)

“Blessed are those who dwell in your house; they are ever praising you.” (v4)

On Sundays around the world, people gather in church buildings and homes worshiping the Lord. This is a psalm of the sons of Korah, who were likely Levites that served in the temple. It voices the writer’s longing and desire to be in the house of the Lord, and how amazing it was to be in God’s presence. Remember at that time, God’s dwelling place was the holy temple; and now in the New Covenant, that temple is us! (1 Cor. 6:19)

I hope you are able to join with Christian brothers and sisters around the world today and every Sunday, dwelling in the house of the Lord and praising the name of Jesus Christ!

And even in times when you aren’t able to physically make it out for some reason, remember that you can still praise and worship Him wherever you are, because we are now the living temples of the Holy Spirit!

Let’s make sure we take time to give Him praise every Sunday and throughout the week, and offer our bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God- as this will be our true and proper worship! (Rom. 12:1)
