God’s In Control (Psalm 67:4)

“May the nations be glad and sing for joy, for you rule the peoples with equity and guide the nations of the earth.” (Psa. 67:4)

Despite what the world looks like and how messed up some things are (and getting worse), God is in control. What may look like turmoil to us, is in His sovereign plan. He resides over each nation, each people, each government, each creature, and each part of our universe. He works together all things for good, and all things point towards His glory and the return of our Lord Jesus Christ!

“That people may know, from the rising of the sun and from the west, that there is none besides me; I am the Lord, and there is no other. I form light and create darkness, I make well-being and create calamity, I am the Lord, who does all these things.”  (Isaiah 45:6-7)

We may get nervous about the future, but God doesn’t, and He reminds us that we don’t need to worry or be anxious either (Mat. 6:34). As children of God, we can rejoice, knowing that everything that is happening in this world and in our lives is under his authority. Those who do not know the Lord nor have the fear of the Lord, will likewise be afraid of what’s to come. But for us as believers, we know that He is a good and fair Judge, guiding us towards a new heaven and earth (Rev. 21). So may the nations be glad and sing for joy, for God is in control!

Heavenly Father, help us to always trust in You and the future You have for us. Grow our faith in You daily, and use us as instruments to bring Your plans and purposes to pass. In Jesus’s name, Amen!!
